News and Interviews Podcast Repackage
What's going on and what's to come
Hello, podcast Afictiōnadôs. I thought I’d take a moment to explain the podcast for those who weren’t aware of it and to explain where the podcast is headed for those who were already aware.
Back in my Day 👴
The spinoff podcast from the main audio drama reviews podcast began in 2020, like so many other shows thanks to the pandemic. The first episode premiered in January 2020. Episode two was on June 28. Now imagine fourteen more episodes interviewing people from Shane Salk of “Carcerem” to Richard Toscan of the original Star Wars radio drama. Now forget all that and imagine another Sony Spider-Man villain franchise reboot with less bad. Now to explain why the link above is behind a paywall.
Money, Limited Editions and FOMO
So, after some soul searching on what would the best way to monetize the podcast, I’ve decided to use a limited-time paywall1 for certain episodes. These episodes will hopefully be ones that attract people to consider subscribing as a paying member.
Currently there is one brand new, never-before-heard episode in the pipeline. Once it goes live, the Star Wars episode will be free for everyone to listen. This process will the most part repeat itself. When a new premium episode goes live, the old one will be made free one week later at the most. There is no set schedule for when episodes will become free. It’s however long it takes me to edit the audio.

Submissions Opening Soon
Finally, the review requests submission form will open in April. So if you’ve been waiting for that, then get ready. Because of this, the review collection will be taking a backseat as I work on the current submissions I have plus the new submissions coming in.
Once I wrap up the review for Greater Boston’s fourth season for the book, the submissions will open. If I’d have to wager the time needed will be the rest of March. Hence why I chose April to reopen review request submissions. As always if you’re a fan or sound designer/mixer of an audio drama AND were not a writer on it, you can submit to me via the recommendations form. Again, if you helped write or were the sole writer, use the requests form.

More popular episodes will be permanently behind the wall, but the first question and its corresponding answer will always be included in the episode preview.
