Sonic Audio Drama Speeds to Podcast Apps Next Week
The fast-food chain has an audio drama?
A Sonic the Hedgehog audio drama from a partnership between Realm and Sega is coming to podcast apps on January 27, 2026. It’s called “The Chaotix Casefiles.” Trailer is available now to listen now.
Cast Details
This audio series will feature Roger Craig Smith as the speedy hedgehog. Smith has been voicing the role of Sonic for over 15 years, starting all the way back in 2010. Other voice actors from the video games include Keith Silverstein (Vector the Crocodile), Matthew Mercer (Espio the Chameleon) and Colleen O’Shaughnessey (Charmy Bee). Three of those two actors have been voicing Sonic characters since 2010 with Mercer making his debut as Chrom in 2014 with “Super Smash Bros” for Wii U and 3DS. O’Shaughnessey, in addition to playing Charmy, has also voiced Tails for various Sonic spinoff games like “Mario and Sonic at the Olympic Games” and “Team Sonic Racing.”
Crew Details
Ian Jones-Quartey will direct with Dan Jolley, Ian Flynn and Evan Stanley as writers. Charlie Rosen will compose the music. Rosen has won Tony and Grammy awards for various projects like Moulin Rouge and “Some Like it Hot.” Daniel Brunelle is the sound designer who’s worked with Executive Producer Fred Greenhalgh on shows like “Star Trek: Khan,” also from Realm. CEO of Realm, Molly Barton, calls the Chaotix Casefiles “an action-packed, sound rich adventure.” SEGA’s Senior Director and Creative Strategy and SEGA Lore, Ryan Hamlyn, says the two teams “combined the appeal of a noir detective drama with Sonic’s fun and action-packed style, creating a fresh story that’s both true to the Sonic series and new to fans.”
